Life Groups

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. (Acts 2:46-47)

What an exciting time it must have been in the first century church. Can you imagine how the world at that time must have noticed how God's people were acting? They were together, gave to those who had need, and were in one accord, heart and soul. WOW! They caused the world to stop and take notice. Thousands at a time were being baptized. They gathered daily to eat, fellowship, encourage and pray with each other. They praised God not only in the temple courts but also in their homes. They truly were a Community of God's people. John Westerhoff writes in his book Values for Tomorrow's Children that "the attraction of Christianity from the very beginning was the lives of Christians". What a wonderful picture of God's people.

The leadership of the Mitchell Church of Christ feels that the model of the first century church is still God's will for His children to live today in fellowship, prayer, and praising God on a daily basis. Taking His word each week and applying it to our daily lives. Serving, encouraging, and being accountable to each other. On Sunday evenings we gather in small groups called Life Groups to help us accomplish these ideas.

It is very important to have personal encouragement, accountability, fellowship, and prayers with other Christians who are on a journey in life that share the goal of serving God. Life groups will help you find your place in God's Family here at Mitchell Church of Christ.

If we can assist you to be a part of this exciting ministry please reach out to one of our leadership team members.
